The big news is that we have been fortunate enough to be able to donate £10,000 to the Cumbria Flood Relief Appeal. The Fred Whitton Challenge route passes through Glenridding, Keswick, Borrowdale, and Honister (where over 12 inches of rain fell in one day in December) and Braithwaite all badly affected areas.
The field is starting to take shape. There have been a lot of enquiries about the reserve list which at the time of writing stands at 394. Last year we had approximately 160 deferred entries so there is hope for some yet. There have been some minor Email issues but just about everyone now who gained a place via the lottery should know if you have been successful or not. Our first, but by no means definitive rider list, is on our website for all to check.
Do remember this is a cycle challenge set up with the sole aim of raising money for charity. Our main beneficiary being MacMillan Cancer Support.
