Volunteers, Campers & Cakes
There are still spaces available at Grasmere Showground for those of you wishing to camp or bring your camper van. Just Email via the website with your requirements and a car/van registration number and we will try to fit you in. These are on a first come first served basis.
The allocation of volunteers starts next week so if anyone out there is looking for a guaranteed place in 2017 (at a reduced rate might we add) please get in touch. All volunteers are welcome. Even if you are not contemplating entering the event why not get involved? Remember the Saddleback Fred Whitton Challenge is one of the few remaining events of its kind that is run purely for charitable causes.
The Saturday signing on looks like being busier than ever this year. This alone should be more of an event with more to see and eat! We have the usual Fred Whitton shop, cakes etc. courtesy of Grasmere Primary School, book sales, cycle art, a bar, Wheelbase Cycle Store, a bike fitting service (it might be a bit late for this – but you might learn something for the future), Choose South Cumbria, Millom School showing how the FWC helped them get students over the C2C. Evies crepes and Rins coffee both from Kendal will be present – don’t forget your double espresso on the Sunday morning!
Keep an eye out for advice from the FWC Facebook page about what to wear to make the most of your big day out in the Lakes.
