A Long ride for short legs
We know the Fred Whitton is one of the hardest one day rides in the country, but consider only being 7 years old and riding Lands End John o’Groats!
Elliott Gordon-Lee set off from Lands End on the 29th August with his dad Dan, and has so far completed 874.5 miles! The shortest distance from Lands End to John o’Groats is 874 miles, Elliott is not going the shortest way but following most of the cycle paths on the way. At the moment Elliott has just arrived in Scotland and in the next ten days hope to make John o’Groats, Elliott has managed to secure the backing of his Norbury School Shropshire on the trip, making all his school friends envious but excited about what he is about to achieve.
Dan, his dad, has ridden the Fred Whitton but Elliott has still 9 years to go before he can complete, he has already applied and his dad Dan has promised to do it with him.
On the 25th September Elliott completed Blair Atholl to Aviemore the biggest day of the trip at over 50 miles, and over Drumochter Pass!!
