Event Terms & Conditions
BEFORE ENTERING PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING EVENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY
Entry Fee is not Refundable or Transferable:
If your entry is successful and you later cancel, then after a small administration cost all of the rest of your fees will go to the event charities. However if you can’t ride the event and let us know and cancel your place in time for us to find a replacement rider (who pay their own entry fee), then we will save you a place in next year’s event (entry fee payable again next year if you take up that place). Note that we might not have time to do a replacement unless you cancel at least three weeks before the event.
Because this is a serious Cycle Ride and Challenge, none of the following cycles will be allowed in the event: Small wheel bikes, Choppers, Fat bikes, Electric bikes, Fold up bikes, Fix Bikes.
No Tri Bars allowed
No Cars or Motor Bikes are allowed to follow (or lead!) the riders. You can arrange to see riders at certain places, but wherever possible, please avoid using the event route to get there. Do not try to meet riders on Hardknott or Wrynose – there simply is not room. A good place to see riders is at the top of Whinlatter, where there are a café and (charged) parking.
No Helmet, No Ride!
You must wear your helmet throughout our event. Failure to comply with this will result in immediate disqualification.
Rider Photo ID
All riders must produce Photo ID at registration
All riders must carry a long-sleeved wind/waterproof.
No Litter. You are in a World Heritage Site – Zero Tolerance
This is a major problem for the future of our event. Please give your litter to the marshals, and they will dispose of it. No Excuses.
We will apply this to any riders not adhering to these rules. Mobile Marshals will record your rider number.
Events Beyond Our Control
The organisers reserve the right to cancel the event at any time, prior or during the event if circumstances demand.
It is the responsibility of the rider to find their way back to Grasmere HQ
We do have staff placed around the course but we cannot be in every place at once, we will do our best to help, but like we say in the riders notes, it is the responsibility of the rider to organise their self back to HQ. this is part of the challenge, always have some money with you so you can book a taxi or find a place to have some food while help arrives.
On the 112 mile route there will be Mechanics, First Aid, Communication staff and plenty of marshals to help. If you retire please give marshals you number and also give your number in on return to Grasmere HQ.
We cannot be everywhere at once, in case of accident call 999. Be aware that most roads are rural and it may take time for emergency services to arrive.
Absolutely No Fancy Dress
Riders who personally double-enter will not go into the draw.
